Current Oklahoma law prevents our state’s Lottery from properly funding prizes for games. This limits sales and ultimately lowers the Lottery’s ability to increase funding to Oklahoma schools.
House Bill 1837 will increase school funding through three simple steps:
Stop further Lottery contribution declines by guaranteeing a $50 million annual Lottery contribution to Oklahoma education.
Contribute all Lottery profits greater than $50 million to K-12 public school initiatives in reading and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math)
Provide stronger prize payouts that improve sales and grow Lottery funding for education.
