$2 Million Powerball Prize Claimed
Stillwater Co-Workers Get Big Pay Day
OKLAHOMA CITY – The $2 million winning Powerball ticket from last night’s drawing was claimed today at Lottery headquarters by a group
of co-workers from Stillwater.
The Lucky 6, as they have named themselves, are Roxann Baldwin, Valerie Williams, Brenda Tidwell, Karin Biros and Clinton Hetrick, all from Stillwater, and Catherine Westmoreland of Cushing.
The group successfully matched five of five white balls, which is a $1 million prize. They added the Power Play option for an extra dollar to increase their prize to $2 million.
The Lucky 6 has been playing as a pool once a week for over five years. After taxes, each member of the group received approximately $236,000.
The group changes their pool manager every month and this month the manager was Roxann Baldwin. It is up the pool manager on how to pick their numbers and if they purchase the Power Play option.
For this drawing Baldwin used Easy Pick to select the group’s numbers and luckily she added Power Play.
“My co-worker told me to get the winning ticket,” Baldwin joked. “It still hasn’t set in that we have won; we are still in shock.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Shepherd’s Food Mart located at 105 S. Main St. in Stillwater.
Oklahoma has had four Powerball jackpot winners and this prize payment to The Lucky 6 is the 28th prize of $1 million or more from the Oklahoma Lottery.
