Newalla Resident Claims $2 Million Powerball Prize
Lottery’s 32nd Millionaire Comes Forward
Oklahoma City (Aug. 13, 2013) — William Gandy, of Newalla, is the state’s newest millionaire. Gandy came forward today to claim his $2 million prize. The Oklahoma Lottery has sold three $2 million winning tickets in the last four Powerball drawings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Stella Groceries located at 18001 SE 149th St. in Newalla.
Gandy plays the Lottery once a week and chose his winning numbers through Easy Pick. By matching five white balls and adding the Power Play option, Gandy turned his original $1 million win into $2 million.
“I don’t know why you wouldn’t add Power Play,” Gandy said. “If you want to win the most you can that means adding Power Play!”
Gandy plans to use his winnings for retirement and a trust fund for his three grandchildren. He plans to keep working.
Since its launch, the Oklahoma Lottery has had four Powerball jackpot winners and this prize is the 32nd prize of $1 million or more.
Oklahoma Lottery is still looking for the winner of the $2 million Powerball ticket from the July 31st drawing. The winning ticket was purchased at D & W Quick Stop, located at 930 W. Main in Ada.
Winners have 180 days from the day of the drawing to claim their prize at the Oklahoma Lottery Headquarters, located at 3817 N. Santa Fe in Oklahoma City.
