$2 Million Powerball Winners Come Forward
Oklahoma City Friends Share Winnings
Oklahoma City (Aug. 9, 2013) — The $2 million winning Powerball ticket from last Wednesday night’s drawing was claimed today at Lottery headquarters by Joy McBride and Judy Leyrer of Oklahoma City.
Although Joy purchased the winning ticket, they both play regularly and have an agreement to share any winnings.
The two friends used the Easy Pick option to select their winning numbers. They successfully matched five of five white balls, which is a $1 million prize and added the Power Play option for an extra dollar to increase their prize to $2 million.
Joy and Judy plan on giving a portion of the winnings to their church and sharing with family. They also recently booked a trip to Hawaii.
“We will definitely be upgrading to first class,” said Joy. “The trip will be even more fun with our Powerball winnings.”
The winning ticket was purchased at U N Food located at 9101 N. Council.
Since its launch, the Oklahoma Lottery has had four Powerball jackpot winners and this prize is the 31st prize of $1 million or more.
Oklahoma Lottery is still looking for the winner of the $2 million Powerball ticket from the July 31st drawing. The winning ticket was purchased at D & W Quick Stop, located at 930 W. Main in Ada.
Winners have 180 days from the day of the drawing to claim their prize at the Oklahoma Lottery Headquarters, located at 3817 N. Santa Fe in Oklahoma City.
