OKLAHOMA CITY (Mar. 2, 2015) - The $2 million winning Powerball ticket from the December 20th drawing was claimed at Lottery headquarters by The Jensco Trust.
The winner successfully matched five of five white balls, which is a $1 million prize. They selected the Power Play option, which doubled the prize to $2 million. After taxes, the trust will receive a total of $1,420,000.
The winning ticket was purchased at Red Ball Party Shop, located at 1527 N Kickapoo in Shawnee. Since its launch, the Oklahoma Lottery has had four Powerball jackpot winners. Including this prize paid to The Jensco Trust, the Oklahoma Lottery has awarded 44 prizes of $1 million or more.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $652 million has been contributed to education since November 2005 with funds appropriated by the State Legislature to pay debt service on a higher education capital bond issue; to pay support salaries for public schools and for equipment, scholarships and other purposes at our career and technology education institutions.
