Oklahoma Lottery Encourages Responsible Play This Holiday Season
Gift Responsibility: Lottery tickets aren't for children

OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov 21, 2016) - The gift giving season is upon us and the Oklahoma Lottery encourages everyone to play and give responsibly.

Lottery tickets make great gifts, but please remember players must be 18 years of age or older to legally purchase or redeem all Oklahoma Lottery products. "Oklahoma law prohibits the gifting of Lottery products to anyone under the age of 18," said Rollo Redburn, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Lottery. "We are asking all of our players this holiday season, and all year long, to play responsibly when it comes to purchasing or giving lottery products."

The Oklahoma Lottery is again joining the annual Holiday Lottery Campaign, partnering with the National Council on Problem Gambling and other state Lotteries to increase public awareness about the impact of giving lottery products as gifts to those under 18 years of age. This campaign encourages parents and loved ones not to give Lottery products as holiday gifts to minors, and to remember when giving a Lottery product as a gift, please keep the person’s age in mind.
