Seven Oklahomans Win Big Playing the Oklahoma Lottery
Oklahoma City (Dec. 2, 2009) – The holiday weekend proved to be a time of celebration for seven lucky Oklahomans. Spread throughout the state, players were enjoying a winning streak that put a little extra cash in everyone’s pocket.
Two $10K Hot Lotto Winners
Shad Sanders of Oklahoma City and Larry Byrd of Enid were both holding the right numbers during the Hot Lotto drawing. Each learned they were the owners of tickets worth $10,000.
“I’ve been playing since the Lottery began,” Sanders said. “I always expect to win and believe I will!”
Sanders received his winning numbers through Easy Pick and purchased his ticket at Penn City Mart, 4200 N. Penn, in Oklahoma City. Byrd chose his numbers and bought his winning ticket at Pete’s Market #2 at 510 N. 30th in Enid
Five Winners Redeem Top Prize Scratchers
Five players scratched their way to major cash playing Oklahoma Lottery Scratchers.
Mary Rhoades of Lawton received her Sterling Silver Scratcher as a birthday gift and was more than pleased to see she had won the top prize of $40,000. Rhoades’ winning ticket was purchased at Williams Express #3, 134 SE Lee Boulevard, in Lawton.
Donald Littlejohn of Tulsa won $20,000 playing the Crossword Scratcher and Gloria Fendrick of Bixby won $15,000 playing the Slots of Fun Scratcher.
“I just feel so blessed and overwhelmed,” Fendrick said. She bought her winning scratcher at the Food Pyramid 66, 10122 S. Memorial, in Tulsa.
Littlejohn purchased his winning ticket at the May’s Drug Store at 2323 W. Edison in Tulsa.
Forrest Walker of Ardmore and Jonathan Fleming of Chandler were seeing double when they each won a top prize of $10,000 playing the Deuces Wild Scratcher.
Walker purchased his ticket at the Rockford C-Store at 2506 Crossroad Drive in Ardmore while Fleming bought his ticket at Jiffy Trip #307, 120 W 15th, in Chandler.

Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $300 million has been contributed to education since November 2005 with funds directed to the higher education capital bond issue and funds directed to the Oklahoma Education Lottery Trust Fund (OELTF). The Oklahoma Legislature appropriates the OELTF.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important education purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
