Oklahoma Lottery to Launch Mega Millions Jan. 31, 2010
OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 8, 2009) — The Oklahoma Lottery announced today the January 31st launch of Mega Millions, a multi-state lottery game with jackpots beginning at $12 million.
“Mega Millions is a great game and gives our players more opportunities to win large jackpots,” said Jim Scroggins, executive director of the Oklahoma Lottery. “Our players appreciate and enjoy a variety of entertaining games and Mega Millions will be an exciting addition to our winning lineup.”
At this time, the Oklahoma Lottery does not have a predicted sales forecast for Mega Millions but is anticipating a positive response from players resulting in overall increased lottery play. As mandated, 35 percent of the Lottery’s net proceeds from Mega Millions will benefit Oklahoma education.
“Our mission is to help support Oklahoma education and with the addition of Mega Millions we look forward to adding more names to our long list of more than 6.3 million winners,” said Scroggins.
