OKLAHOMA CITY (April 28, 2008) – Tulsa residents Gladys and Luis Pena won $100,000 on April 23 playing Powerball. The Power Play multiplier was 10 for this particular drawing, which awarded the Pena’s an extra $90,000 for an extra $1.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Reasor’s #13 grocery store at 11005 E 41st St. in Tulsa.
The Pena’s have been playing the Lottery every week since its launch and pick their numbers using family members’ birthdays.
“If I had used my own birthday date, I would have won the Jackpot,” said Gladys Pena. “We’re looking forward to using our winnings toward home improvements and maybe a trip to Hawaii.”
Another prize winning ticket of $100K was sold at BJ’s One Stop in Sallisaw at 2430 E. Cherokee and is currently unclaimed. In addition, there were 51 prize winners of $1,000 drawn in the April 23 Powerball drawing.
