Press Release

OKLAHOMA CITY (April 4, 2008) – Matt Roney, a resident of Edmond, Oklahoma, won $27,000 on April 2 playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s Royal 7s Scratcher.
He plans to use the money to pay bills and pay his car off.
Roney has just recently started playing the lottery in Oklahoma. He has played Powerball in other states while playing professional baseball. In this instance, he purchased the winning Scratcher at Bricktown Food Plaza, located at 900 W. Reno in Oklahoma City.
Roney said he plays the Lottery because it supports education.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education.  More than $175 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
