SHAWNEE MEN SPLIT POWERBALL MONEY
Employees of a manufacturing company in Shawnee won $10,000 on Aug. 8 with a Powerball ticket purchased as part of a company pool.
The winners: George Abyad, Nhan Bui, Dave Cermack, Justin Coffey, Marty Coffey, Fred Haffey, Steve Lemmings, Don Morgan, Darrell Pots and Kevin Wicker work for Wood Group Pressure Control, a local manufacturer of oil field valves. Plans for the prize money include: savings, home improvements and vacations.
According to winner Fred Haffey, the group has played the Lottery since it began in Oklahoma, participating in every draw. Each contributes $5 every two weeks until the jackpot grows to more than $100 million, then each person contributes $5 every week.
The winning ticket was purchased at McClure’s 66 Stop, located at 101 W. Main St. in Konawa, Oklahoma.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $136 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
