JENKS MAN WINS $10K PLAYING EXTREME GREEN SCRATCHER
OKLAHOMA CITY (August 23, 2008) – Brian O’Hara of Jenks won $10,000 playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s Extreme Green Scratcher. He purchased his winning ticket on a whim at the Homeland located at 4001 S. Highway 97 in Sand Springs.
O’Hara said he occasionally plays Scratchers but mostly sticks to buying Powerball tickets—having been a regular player for nearly three years.
“I scratched the ticket at the store and couldn’t believe it,” he said. “I made the clerk check my ticket to see if I was right.”
O’Hara added that he encourages others to play and with three children in school, he’s glad the money goes toward helping support Oklahoma’s education.
How to Play Extreme Green:
* Match any of your numbers to either winning number and you win the prize shown for that number.
* Reveal a “coin” symbol and you automatically win the prize shown.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $215 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important education purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
