PONCA CITY RESIDENT CLAIMS $200,000 PRIZE
Anderson wins playing Powerball
Michael Anderson of Ponca City is proof that that it is always smart to check your Lottery tickets. Anderson checked a Powerball ticket sitting on his dresser this week and got a big surprise. The ticket was a $200,000 winner from the November 1 drawing.
Anderson claimed his winnings Monday at Oklahoma Lottery headquarters. He purchased his winning Powerball ticket at the Citgo Station at 200 East Highland in Ponca City.
“I’ve bought my Powerball tickets from the station since the beginning, but almost didn’t this time because they had already had a $200,000 winner,” Anderson said. When asked what he planned on doing with his winnings, Anderson said he plans on having a great Christmas.
Since the Oklahoma Lottery launched, more than $139 million in prizes has been won playing Oklahoma Lottery games, said Jim Scroggins, Oklahoma Lottery
Commission Executive Director. “Michael proved you should always check your tickets carefully,” said Scroggins.
Proceeds from Oklahoma Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for education purposes and programs at all levels of education, Pre-K to higher education. So far more than $86 million has been transferred to the Oklahoma Education Lottery Trust Fund.
