Press Release

The Oklahoma Lottery announced today that it will pay prizes on two sets of Pick 3 numbers for the December 22, 2008 Pick 3 drawing.

The first set of numbers, 7-6-2, was broadcast live during last night’s televised Pick 3 drawing and players holding tickets with those numbers can claim prizes at any Lottery retailer.  Due to a technical problem that occurred during the live drawing but was not detected until after the drawing was broadcast, the Lottery will also award prizes on the second set of numbers, 7-6-0.  Players holding tickets from the December 22nd drawing with the numbers 7-6-0 will be required to file a claim at the Lottery either in person or by mail at P.O. Box 548810, Oklahoma City, OK 73118 or any of its claim centers in order to collect their prize.

The technical problem occurred when one of the Pick 3 balls in the last draw machine (machine number three) failed to drop into the mixing chamber.  Since this problem was not detected until after the first set of numbers, 7-6-2, was broadcast, the Lottery held an additional drawing off-camera for the third and last number.  This off-camera drawing resulted in the second set of numbers being 7-6-0.

All Oklahoma Lottery drawings are taped and witnessed by Lottery staff and the Lottery’s auditing firm of Wright, McAfee & Co., C.P.A.’s.  Last nights drawing, including the off-camera drawing, was held according to Lottery procedures and was witnessed by the auditing firm.

The Lottery apologizes to all its Pick 3 players for this problem.

Questions about this drawing and the procedures followed should be directed to the Lottery at 1-405-522-7710.
