HOT LOTTO BLAZES INTO OKLAHOMA
Tickets Go On Sale Jan. 3
The Oklahoma Lottery is turning up the heat in the New Year with the highly anticipated launch of Hot Lotto, a popular online Lottery game similar to Powerball with a jackpot prize beginning at $1 million.
Hot Lotto tickets go on sale at Lottery retailers across the state at 4:01 a.m. on Jan. 3. Each play costs $1 and up to ten consecutive drawings can be purchased at a time.
“We are excited to offer our players another jackpot game that features a rolling jackpot,” said Jim Scroggins, Oklahoma Lottery Executive Director, “With the addition of Hot Lotto, we are going to be able to continue to provide Oklahoma Lottery players fun and exciting Lottery games.”
To play Hot Lotto, simply pick five “white ball” numbers from 1 to 39 and one orange “hot ball” number from 1 to 19. You can also choose to let the computer pick all your numbers for you. The jackpot is won when all six numbers are correctly matched. Non-jackpot prizes range from $2 -- $10,000. A Hot Lotto “Sizzler” option can also be purchased for $1, which triples the money on any non-jackpot prize.
Drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Sales cutoff time is 8:59 p.m. on the evening of the drawing. Drawings are not televised. Winning numbers will be posted following each drawing on the Oklahoma Lottery website www.lottery.ok.gov and will be listed in newspapers across the state. Winning numbers will also be available at local lottery retailers.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $160 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
