OKLAHOMA CITY RESIDENTS SMILE AND CELEBRATE LOTTERY WINS
Oklahoma City (Dec. 5, 2008) – Two Oklahoma City residents have something to smile about having recently won cash playing the Oklahoma Lottery.
After purchasing a winning Wild 8s Scratcher worth $888, Mary Downs left the Mr. Smile convenience store at 1501 W. Britton Road in celebration. Upon realizing she had won, she immediately showed her ticket to a friend who was with her. For now, she has no definite plans for spending her cash.
“I’ll do something fun but I don’t know what yet,” she said.
Downs said she thinks it’s good the Lottery funds help support Oklahoma’s education.
Robert Schertler is smiling too having just won $2,500 playing the Lottery’s Sapphire Riches Scratcher. He purchased his winning ticket at 89 Street Petro Partner, 3232 SW 89, in Oklahoma City.
He said he wishes the Oklahoma Lottery had begun sooner and he had to pinch himself to make sure he had really won. Schertler says he’ll use his money toward a night out and paying bills.
