TULSA PLAYER WINS ANOTHER LOTTERY
Nelly Zaman Haque, a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, won $17,000 on Dec. 3 playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s Sapphire Blue 7s Scratcher. She plans to put the money into savings.
Haque said she plays the Lottery because she was given the opportunity to come to America through the Lottery.
Haque is originally from Bangladesh, a country in South Asia. She was granted a Diversity Immigrant Visa in 1995, which uses a lottery system to provide permanent resident visas each year to a limited number of people from countries with low rates of immigration to the U.S.
Haque has played the Lottery regularly since it launched in Oklahoma. She plays Pick 3 often, and Scratchers occasionally. She purchased the winning ticket at Food Plaza, a convenience store located at 12602 E. 31st St. in Tulsa.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $157 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
