FAIRVIEW RESIDENT WINS $20K PLAYING CASINO CASH
Mary Ann Earnhart, a resident of Fairview, Oklahoma, won $20,000 on Feb. 19 playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s Casino Cash Scratcher.
She plans to use the money to purchase a bicycle, pay bills and travel to a national bowling tournament in Detroit, Michigan.
Earnhart has played the Lottery occasionally since it launched in Oklahoma. On this occasion, her daughter purchased the ticket for her while she stayed outside to pump gas at Jiffy Trip, a convenience store located on S.H. 58 in Longdale, Oklahoma.
Earnhart said she plays the Lottery because it supports education.
“I would like to see schools get more money for academics,” she said.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $172 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
