Amanda Lawson, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma, won $17,000 on Feb. 19 playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s Sapphire Blue 7s Scratcher.
She plans to purchase a car with some of the winnings, and put the rest in savings.

Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
