CUSHING RESIDENT WINS $10K PLAYING POWERBALLCushing Resident Wins $10K Playing Powerball

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 22, 2008) – Monte McManus, a resident of Cushing, Oklahoma, won $10,000 on Feb. 9 playing Powerball.  He has not yet decided what to do with the money.
 
The winning ticket was purchased at Maverick Mini Mart, a convenience store located at 503 E. 9th St. in Cushing.
 
McManus has played the Lottery since it launched in Oklahoma.  
 
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education.  More than $172 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
 
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
