ELK CITY RESIDENT WINS $30K PLAYING POWERBALL
OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 26, 2008) – Betty Miller, a resident of Elk City, Oklahoma, won $30,000 on Feb. 20 playing Powerball. She plans to pay bills with the money.
“I am just happy I won,” Miller said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Homeland #170, located at 412 W. 3rd St. in Elk City.
Miller has played the Lottery since it launched in Oklahoma, purchasing one ticket for each drawing.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $172 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
