Saturday night’s Powerball Jackpot will be an estimated $250 million;
Orange Ball Doubler comes up and doubles Pick 3 prizes for 417 winners

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – February 10, 2006 – In the month since first joining Powerball, Oklahoma has seen a steady parade of second- and third-level Powerball winners.  In the two most recent Powerball drawings, Oklahoma has had seven winners of $10,000 and two winners of $200,000 – Morris Foster of Norman, and Lane Rogers of Alma, Ark.

Five of the seven $10,000 winners were from Wednesday night’s drawing, including one player who purchased the Power Play option for an extra $1 and won $50,000, while one of last Saturday’s winners quadrupled their prize and won $40,000.

Tomorrow night’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $250 million (annuitized prize paid out over 29 years in 30 payments), the sixth highest in the history of the Powerball game, which dates back to April 1992.  In the event a player would match all six Powerball numbers tomorrow night and choose to receive the jackpot in one lump-sum payment, that person would win an estimated $120.1 million.  Players can purchase tickets for this drawing at lottery-contracted retail locations throughout the state until 7:59 p.m. (CST) tomorrow night.

In last night’s Pick 3 drawing, the Orange “Doubler” ball came up, which means all prizes for winning Pick 3 tickets for the Thursday, February 9 drawing are doubled.  There were 417 winners, each of whom will see their prize double.  The breakdown follows:

The Pick 3 Doubler promotion runs through Saturday, February 18. All six white balls and the one orange ball will be returned to the drawing machine for tonight’s drawing. The Orange Ball is guaranteed to come up at least one more time between now and the end of the promotion.

Both the Pick 3 and Powerball drawings can be seen live at 7:10 p.m. and 9:59 p.m., respectively, on KOKH-Fox and KOCB-WB in Oklahoma City, and on KWBT-WB in Tulsa.  Immediately after each drawing, results are posted on the lottery’s official website at and are distributed to the media for television and radio broadcast as well as printed daily in newspapers throughout the state.
