So CLOSE !!!!
Wednesday’s Jackpot Grows to $210 Million
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK February 5, 2006, – In only the state’s second month of Powerball, two Oklahoma players came within a “Powerball” from winning the jackpot. However, by matching five numbers in Saturday’s drawing, they still will go on record as the two highest Oklahoma lottery winners to date. Each ticket is worth a whopping $200,000.
Last night’s winning Powerball numbers were 4-12-13-30-38 with the Powerball number 30. The Power Play number was 4. “It was a big night for Oklahoma players,” said Jim Scroggins, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Lottery. “We may not have had a jackpot winner but we came very close.”
The $200,000 tickets were purchased in Roland and Norman. In addition to the two, second level winners, two other lucky players each matched four numbers and the Powerball number for the $10,000 prize. One of those players selected the Power Play option thereby quadrupling their prize to $40,000. Those tickets were purchased in Bethany and Tulsa.
Since no ticket won the top prize in last night’s drawing, the Wednesday, February 8, 2006 Powerball jackpot will be an estimated $210 million. “While we expect Powerball excitement to grow, we want to remind everyone to play responsibly,” said Scroggins.
Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. (CST) and are telecast live on the lottery’s drawing stations – KOKH-FOX and KOCB-WB in Oklahoma City, and on KWBT-WB in Tulsa. Results are also available immediately after each drawing on the lottery’s official website at www.lottery.ok.gov and are distributed to the media for television and radio broadcast as well as printed daily in newspapers throughout the state.
Players can purchase Powerball tickets – and the optional Power Play multiplying feature – at lottery-contracted retail locations throughout the state until 7:59 p.m. (CST) on the night of the drawing.
