HOT LOTTO IS HEATING UP OKLAHOMA
McAlester Resident Wins $30K Playing Hot Lotto
Yvonne Kious, a resident of McAlester, Oklahoma, won $30,000 playing Oklahoma’s newest online game Hot Lotto. Kious’s win came with her first time playing the new game.
The winning ticket was purchased at The Filling Station, located at 526 E. Carl Albert in McAlester.
Kious matched all five white ball numbers, but missed the Hot Ball number. Since she added the sizzler multiplier, Kious’s prize was tripled.
Kious has played the Lottery since it launched in Oklahoma. She said she usually plays Powerball every draw, but this was her first time to win big playing the Lottery. She plans to use the money to celebrate her upcoming 40th wedding anniversary.
Hot Lotto is a popular online Lottery game similar to Powerball with a jackpot prize beginning at $1 million. Drawings are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m.
Winning numbers for Hot Lotto are posted following each drawing on the Oklahoma Lottery website and are listed in newspapers across the state. Winning numbers are also available at local lottery retailers.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $169 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
