HOT LOTTO IS SIZZLIN
Glencoe Man Wins $10K
David Tarkington from Glencoe, Oklahoma, won $10,000 on Jan. 23, playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s newest online game Hot Lotto.
Hot Lotto is played like Powerball, and features jackpots starting at $1 million. There are nine ways to win, and tickets cost $1. Besides the jackpot prizes, players can win one of eight other cash prizes, ranging from $2 to $10,000. By adding the Sizzler feature, players can automatically triple their prize, excluding the jackpot. The overall odds of winning a Hot Lotto prize are better than 1 in 16.
Tarkington purchased his winning ticket at Cowboy Stop, located at 2623 N. Perkins Rd. in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Tarkington has been playing the Lottery since it began in Oklahoma and played before that in Kansas. This was the first time he played Hot Lotto, but he plays Powerball every draw.
The winning numbers from Wednesday’s draw were 2-4-13-25-29, and the Hot Ball number was 16. Tarkington matched all five white balls, but missed the orange Hot Ball. The Hot Lotto jackpot for Wednesday night is now up to $4.7 million.
Players can obtain winning numbers on the Oklahoma Lottery website, www.lottery.ok.gov, or by simply visiting their closest Lottery retailer. Prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $169 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
