SHAWNEE RESIDENT WINS $40K PLAYING JUMBO BUCKS SCRATCHER
Oklahoma City (Jan. 13, 2009) – Jessica Ellis-Crothers of Shawnee won $40,000 playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s Jumbo Bucks Scratcher. She purchased her winning ticket at Super Mart, 4417 S. High Ave., in Oklahoma City.
She plays the Lottery occasionally and plans to save her winnings for the future.
“This is my first big win,” she says. “I think it’s a good thing that the Lottery supports education.”
About the Oklahoma Lottery
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $236 million has been contributed to education since November 2005 with funds directed to the higher education capital bond issue and funds directed to the Oklahoma Education Lottery Trust Fund (OELTF). The Oklahoma Legislature appropriates the OELTF.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important education purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
