Twenty-two employees from Baldor Electric Co., a Ft. Smith, Arkansas-based designer and manufacturer of industrial electric motors, drives and generators, recently won $10,006 in the July 11 Powerball drawing.

They have played the Lottery as a group for years, purchasing their tickets in Missouri before the Lottery was established in Oklahoma.  This is their first big win.

“We are glad to be getting some payback,” said Steve Evans, the Baldor employee who recently became the company’s designated Lottery pool manager.  “It lets us know we can win.”

They plan to use their winnings to “go out to eat, and pay bills.”

According to Evans, each employee regularly contributes $20 for multi-draw tickets.  They purchase 10 draws at a time and always use Easy Pick to select their numbers.

Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education.  More than $125.4 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
