STILLWATER MAN CLAIMS $40K POWERBALL TICKET
OKLAHOMA CITY (July 22, 2008) – Eusebio Covarrubias Perez of Stillwater has claimed his winning Powerball ticket worth $40,000. He purchased his winning ticket at Country Convenience, 5808 E. 6th, in Stillwater.
Perez matched four white balls and the Powerball to win $10,000. He won an extra $30,000 by selecting the Power Play option for an extra dollar.
Perez usually plays the Lottery a few times a week and plans to share the money with his family.
“My company uses Country Convenience to purchase fuel, so I’m there often,” he said. “When I had them check my ticket they told me I was a big winner and I didn’t believe it.”
Perez adds, “I’m very happy about winning and feel good about the Lottery supporting education.”
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $209 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important education purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
