OKLAHOMA CITY RESIDENTS WIN ON LOTTERY GAME SHOW
OKLAHOMA CITY (July 9, 2008) – Jo Buchanan, Dawn Capps and Rhonda Going of Oklahoma City recently won cash prizes as contestants on The Oklahoma Lottery Game Show.
Buchanan was a contestant on the June 14 show and competed again on June 28 as a returning champion. She won $13,150 and purchased her winning entry ticket at Circle K, 7900 N.W. Expressway.
Capps and Going appeared on the June 28 show.
Capps won $500 and purchased her winning entry ticket at OG Food Mart, 8937 S. May Avenue.
Going purchased her ticket at On Cue Express, 5900 W. Reno Avenue and walked away with $600.
Each 30-minute episode of The Oklahoma Lottery Game Show features seven contestants (six new contestants and one returning champion) in a series of number-themed games. All players are guaranteed $500, and may have a chance to win more than $50,000 in cash and prizes in each show.
All contestants receive “star” treatment, including accommodations at the Sheraton Oklahoma City Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City, dinner for the contestant and a guest, and breakfast in the Aria Grill at the hotel.
Players can win a chance to be a contestant by playing The Oklahoma Lottery Game Show Scratcher, which is available at any Lottery retail locations. Contestants are chosen through a random drawing prior to each show’s taping. All players must be 18 or older.
The Game Show airs Saturdays at 6 p.m. on KOCB Channel 34 in Oklahoma City. The show is rebroadcast in Tulsa on Cox Channel 3 Mondays at 2 p.m. and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. In Oklahoma City, the show re-airs on Cox Channel 7 Mondays at 2 p.m. and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $193 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
