WILBURTON RESIDENT WINS $27,000 PLAYING ROYAL 7s SCRATCHER

OKLAHOMA CITY (June 2, 2008) – James Larry Gean of Wilburton won a top prize of $27,000 playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s Royal 7s Scratcher.

Gean purchased his winning ticket at E-Z Mart #702 at 405 W. Main in Wilburton. He’s been playing the lottery for six months and always scratches his tickets backwards.

“I saw the amount first and then realized I had won,” he said. To be sure, Gean had the clerks check his ticket to confirm his win. “It really hasn’t hit me yet that I’m a winner.”

Gean plans to use his money toward home improvements and bills.

How to Play
Players must reveal a black or red “7” to win the prize shown. The red “7” doubles the prize.

Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $190 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.

Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important education purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
