Another “lucky night” for Oklahoma Powerball players
$600,000 ticket sold in Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – June 26, 2006 – The Oklahoma Lottery is still eagerly awaiting contact from the player who holds the $101.8 million winning ticket sold in Broken Arrow over a week ago. While it is not unusual for it to take some time for jackpot winners to claim their prize since there are so many things to consider, the Lottery encourages the winner to contact us with any questions or concerns.
This past Saturday’s drawing was also another lucky one for Oklahoma. Saturday night’s (June 24) winning Powerball numbers were 8-11-30-39-47, with Powerball number 23. The Power Play number was 3. A match 5 of 5 winning ticket was sold in Oklahoma City. Match 5 of 5 pays $200,000, however the player also selected Power Play, which multiplied the prize to a total of $600,000.
Since joining the Multi State Powerball organization in January, 2006, Oklahoma has had more than its share of top tier prizes as evidenced in the chart below;
“As one of 31 lottery jurisdictions in the organization, we were not expecting to have a jackpot winner only five months after joining Powerball,” said Jim Scroggins, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Lottery. “Plus we have been fortunate enough to have also had over $7 Million in other high tier winners.”
In addition to the most recent high-tier winners, there are still several more that are still unclaimed.
