Nearly 15,000 Players Win 10 Times Their Original Powerball Prize; Lottery Officials Still Searching for Three Big-Prize Winners

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - March 13, 2006 - Nearly 15,000 Oklahoma Lottery Powerball players saw their cash prizes increased by 10 times their original amount as the Power Play multiplier "10" was randomly selected in Saturday night's drawing. It is the first time the multiplier "10" has been selected in the month-long Power Play 10X promotion, which began March 1.

For an extra dollar, Power Play gives players a chance to multiply their Powerball winning prizes (not including the jackpot) by 2,3,4 or 5 times the original amount. During the month of March, a special Power Play 10X promotion is allowing Powerball winners to multiply their original prize amounts by up to 10 times and win up to $2,000,000.

Although there were no jackpot winners in the March 11, 2006 drawing, thousands of Oklahoma Lottery Powerball players cashed in on the 10X promotion, including:

America's best known and most popular online lottery game offers players opportunities to win one of nine prizes which range from $3 to the jackpot which starts at $15 million. This Wednesday's rolling jackpot is an estimated $75 million.

Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. (CST) and are telecast live on the lottery's drawing stations. KOKH-Fox and KOCB-WB in Oklahoma City, and on KWBT-WB in Tulsa. Results are also available immediately after each drawing on the lottery's official website at and are distributed to the media for television and radio broadcast as well as printed daily in newspapers throughout the state.

Players can purchase Powerball tickets and the optional Power Play multiplying feature at lottery-contracted retail locations throughout the state until 7:59 p.m. (CST) on the night of the drawing.

All profits from the Oklahoma Lottery are used to support improvements and enhancements for educational purposes and programs at all levels from Pre-Kindergarten to higher education.
