BEGGS RESIDENT WINS TOP PRIZE PLAYING FUN $50s SCRATCHER
Retailer says Commissions from Lottery Sales Help Bottom Line
Oklahoma City (March 27, 2009) – Terri Weese of Beggs says it’s a town tradition to play your hand at the Lottery. So far, luck has been on her side with Weese winning the top prize of $10,000 playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s Fun $50s Scratcher.
Weese, a Lottery retailer, purchased her winning ticket from her store, Weese’s, at 2nd and Creek in Beggs.
“Within an hour everyone in town knew about the win,” she said. “I’ve played the Lottery almost every day since we started selling tickets in our store. This is my second big win.”
Weese previously won $5,000 and she’s not the only one who has found fortune at her store.
“We’ve sold several big winning tickets including a $50K Powerball with Power Play ticket, two $5K tickets and one $1K ticket,” she said. “Our commission from Lottery sales is larger than what the store makes.”
For now, Weese plans to use her winnings toward paying off bills.
