Irish Eyes A Smiling On Oklahoma Lottery Players
Players Win Playing Scratcher Emerald Green 7’s and Oklahoma Cash 5

The Luck of the Irish came early this month for Jason Roberts of Glencoe, OK. Roberts claimed a $17,000 prize Monday at Oklahoma Lottery Headquarters that he won playing the new Scratcher game Emerald Green 7’s.

That Irish Luck was in full effect, as Roberts’ wife, Tara, had won $25 on the Scratcher Hit 50s moments before Jason redeemed $4 he had won on Emerald Green 7’s for another ticket. After winning the $25, Tara said that was the most they had ever won. Jason then scratched his new Emerald Green 7’s ticket to win the top prize of $17,000.

Jason purchased his winning Scratcher at the Maverick Mini Mart in Glencoe. The couple had been buying their Lottery tickets at various locations, but plan on purchasing only at the Maverick Mini Mart now.

When asked what he planned on doing with his winnings, Roberts said he plans on purchasing a new truck.

Mick LaFevers of Poteau won $25,000 taxes paid playing Oklahoma Cash 5. He purchased his ticket at Tote A Poke #5 in Pacola, OK.

Since the Oklahoma Lottery launched, more than $145 million in prizes has been won playing Oklahoma Lottery games, said Jim Scroggins, Oklahoma Lottery Commission Executive Director.

Proceeds from Oklahoma Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for education purposes and programs at all levels of education, Pre-K to higher education. So far more than $101 million has been transferred to the Oklahoma Education Lottery Trust Fund.
