FLETCHER RESIDENT WINS $200K PLAYING POWERBALL
OKLAHOMA CITY (May 12, 2008) – Carlton Berry, Jr., a resident of Fletcher, won $200,000 on May 10 playing Powerball. He plans to use his winnings toward retirement.
Berry purchased his winning ticket at Hop & Sack at Highway 227 North in Fletcher. He usually plays twice a week and picks his numbers based on birthdays and ages.
“I’m glad the money helps support education,” he said.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $190 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important education purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
