$1M Mega Millions Ticket Claimed by Oklahoma City Resident!
Oklahoma Lottery Names First Mega Millions Millionaire
Oklahoma City (May 25, 2010) – Jackie Ruff of Oklahoma City is the Oklahoma Lottery’s first Mega Millions millionaire! Today she was honored at a celebration where she bought the winning ticket—the Buy for Less at 3501 NW Expressway.
“I’m in shock and just feel so blessed to have won,” said Ruff. “I never thought I would be able to retire. I just assumed I would have to work forever but now I can start planning for retirement.”
Ruff said she will continue to work a few more years but she plans on using some of her winnings soon toward a trip to the Grand Canyon with family.
“My sister in Texas encouraged me to play Mega Millions—saying it was the way to go,” said Ruff, who received her winning numbers via Easy Pick.
Thankfully Ruff not only decided to play but also purchased the Megaplier. Her original win was $250,000, but with the Megaplier X4 her thousands became a million.
Buy for Less also had a reason to celebrate. Due to the Oklahoma Lottery’s retailer bonus program, the Buy for Less receives a cash bonus of $1,000 for selling the winning Mega Millions ticket.
