COWETA WOMAN WINS $40K PLAYING POWERBALL
Betty S. Stanton, a resident of Coweta, Oklahoma, won $40,000 on Nov. 10 playing Powerball. She plans to use the money to buy a new car, a PT Cruiser.
Stanton, a regular Lottery player since it launched in Oklahoma, is clearly on a winning streak. The Sunday before her big Powerball win, she won $400 playing Sapphire Blue 7s and in the last few weeks, she has also banked $1,260 playing Pick 3 and Oklahoma Cash 5.
Stanton purchased her winning Powerball ticket at Jim’s One Stop, located at 614 S. Broadway St. in Coweta. She used Easy Pick to select her numbers.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $157 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
