OWASSO MAN WINS $30K PLAYING ‘GOLD AND SILVER’
Jeff Hawkins, a resident of Owasso, Oklahoma, won $30,000 playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s Gold & Silver Scratcher. He plans to put the money in savings for the purchase of a new home sometime in the future.
Hawkins bought the winning ticket at Kum & Go, a convenience store located at 12807 E. 86th St. N. in Owasso. He was at the store visiting a friend and decided to play on a whim.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $157 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
