Announces Statewide Anniversary Celebration

On October 12, the Oklahoma Lottery will complete a successful year of operations and is celebrating the fun-filled year of Woo-Hoo’s with two one-time only Anniversary celebrations.

“We have had an excellent first year filled with fun and excitement,” said Jim Scroggins, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Lottery Commission. “Oklahomans won more than $129 million in the first year. Of course, the real winners are Oklahoma’s children and education, with more than $68 million being transferred to education so far. We’re excited about all that we have accomplished and are looking forward to a great second year.”

In its first year the Oklahoma Lottery has launched 27 Scratchers, debuted the Pick 3 online game last November, was welcomed to the Powerball family in January when Oklahoma hosted the national Powerball drawing and has invited Oklahomans “to put 25 grand in their hand” with Oklahoma Cash 5.

To celebrate the first year, the Lottery has planned a statewide Scratcher promotion and will be launching the First Anniversary Raffle in November.

Beginning October 12, Oklahomans will have a chance to win tickets in the  Scratcher game Cash Reward from radio stations across the state. Radio station partners will be giving away 12,000 of these $2 Scratchers to listeners in a number of exciting contests. Cash Reward features a top prize of $5,000. Click here for a full list of participating radio stations.

On November 10, the 1-year anniversary of Pick 3’s launch, tickets will go on sale for the Oklahoma Lottery First Anniversary Raffle. This limited-time-only game will feature a top prize of $250,000 with only 200,000 $5 tickets being sold.

With each ticket purchase, players also will receive a mail-in entry for a chance to win a 2006 Oklahoma Lottery custom-painted Victory Vegas Jackpot Motorcycle. The raffle also includes two second-tier prizes of $50,000 and 300 third-tier prizes of $500.

The First Anniversary Raffle drawing will be live at the International Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City on January 20, 2007.
