OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 8, 2008) – Ted Pope of Covington won $2,483 as a contestant on The Oklahoma Lottery Game Show, which aired on October 4.
Pope purchased his winning entry ticket at Miller’s General Store, 1 Main Street, in Covington.
Each 30-minute episode of The Oklahoma Lottery Game Show featured seven contestants (six new contestants and one returning champion) in a series of number-themed games. All players were guaranteed $500 with the possibility of winning more than $50,000 in cash and prizes in each show.
All contestants received “star” treatment, including accommodations at the Sheraton Oklahoma City Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City, dinner for the contestant and a guest, and breakfast in the Aria Grill at the hotel.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $220 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
