Press Release

Amy Bittle and Brandy Cornelison

OKLAHOMA CITY (Sept. 8, 2008) – Amy Bittle of Bixby and Brandy Cornelison of Glenpool are joint winners of $40,000 from playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s Jumbo Bucks Scratcher. Cornelison bought the ticket on their behalf from the MJK Food Plaza at 15278 S. Memorial in Bixby.
Bittle and Cornelison play Powerball every Wednesday and Saturday and always add a scratcher or two in the mix.
“Amy scratched the ticket and started screaming ‘you only have to match one!’” said Cornelison. “I thought she had lost her mind but she showed me the ticket and then I realized we had won. We took it to Amy’s mom to check and then went back to the store.”
Bittle and Cornelison are friends with the owner of the MJK Food Plaza and plan on giving him a ‘tip’ for suggesting the winning ticket. Other plans for their winnings include buying a new truck, paying off a car and eventually taking a trip.
“You can’t win if you don’t play,” added Cornelison.
To win playing Jumbo Bucks, players must match any of their chosen numbers to any of the four serial numbers to win the prize shown. If the player reveals a 2X, 4X or 8X the player wins the prize shown multiplied by that amount.
Net proceeds of all Lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $215 million has been contributed to education since November 2005.
Proceeds are used statewide to supplement existing funds for a variety of important education purposes, including: teacher compensation and benefits, early childhood development programs, college scholarships, classroom technology and construction of educational facilities.
