Lottery Director Wins Industry Award
Jay Finks, marketing director for the Oklahoma Lottery Commission, was award the Powers Award for Excellence in Marketing during the 2010 North American State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) Annual Conference in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Powers Awards are presented in recognition of lottery and vendor employees who have made significant contributions to their lotteries by virtue of exceptional job performance.

Guthrie Man Claims $200K Prize!
Charles Anderson of Guthrie has claimed the winning Powerball ticket worth $200,000 from the Sept. 22 drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased at Lakeview Grocery, 7803 S. Sooner in Guthrie. Anderson said he always purchases his tickets from Lakeview Grocery, because it is convenient and he has known the owner for years.

Lawton Couple Claims $1M Prize!
Elvin and Jacqueline Vinson of Lawton have claimed the winning Mega Millions ticket worth $1,000,000. This is Oklahoma Lottery’s first $1,000,000 winner since the matrix change for Mega Millions went into effect on Sept. 14, 2010.
Elvin purchased the winning ticket at Stripes, 4001 NW Cache Road, in Lawton. Their winning numbers were selected through the Easy Pick option.

The Oklahoma Education Lottery Act, passed in November 2004, designates the net proceeds of all Lottery games for educational improvements and enhancements statewide. The funds benefit all levels of education from Pre-K to higher education. |

Oklahoma Education Lottery Reaches $1 Billion in Ticket Sales
The Oklahoma Education Lottery marks $1 billion in ticket sales and has generated more than $350 million for Oklahoma education since its launch in 2005.
Because the Lottery achieved higher sales than previously projected for fiscal year 2010, the profit transfer to the Oklahoma Education Lottery Trust Fund (OELTF) for the year ending June 30, exceeds the amount appropriated by the legislature by $6 million.

Jackie Ruff of Oklahoma City is the Oklahoma Lottery’s first Mega Millions millionaire! Today she was honored at a celebration where she bought the winning ticket—the Buy for Less at 3501 NW Expressway.
“I’m in shock and just feel so blessed to have won,” said Ruff. “I never thought I would be able to retire. I just assumed I would have to work forever but now I can start planning for retirement.”

Million Dollar Ticket Claimed by Collinsville Couple!
Marta and David Thirion of Collinsville have claimed the winning Powerball ticket worth $1M. The couple purchased the winning ticket at QuikTrip #42, 9600 N. Garnett Road, in Owasso.
Marta, who plays the Lottery weekly, learned of her win during the early morning hours on March 14.

Claremore Man Claims $250,000 Mega Millions Ticket!
Jeffery Haff of Claremore has claimed a winning Mega Millions ticket worth $250,000! This is the first Mega Millions win in Oklahoma to hit five of five white balls just missing the mega ball number. He bought his winning ticket from Kum & Go #840 at 1100 N. Lynn Riggs in Claremore.
Haff saw the winning numbers on the news this morning and then checked the Oklahoma Lottery website. He had received his winning numbers through Quick Pick. When he realized he had won, he started shouting.

Okahoma Lottery Seeks First Big Mega Millions Winner
The Oklahoma Lottery is seeking its first big winner from Mega Millions since the new multi-state game launched in Oklahoma a week ago. A winning Mega Millions ticket worth $40,000 was sold at Wes-T-Go #14 at 1199 NE 12th Street in Guymon.
The winning numbers from last Friday night’s drawing are 10, 20, 45, 51 and 53. The Mega Ball number is 41 and the Megaplier is 4.

Mega Millions Sales Begin Sunday, January 31, 2010
Oklahomans will soon have more ways to win with jackpot drawings four days a week, instead of two. On Sunday, January 31, the Oklahoma Lottery will launch Mega Millions, a multi-state lottery game with jackpots beginning at $12 million.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays and Powerball drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Powerball jackpots begin at $20 million. |

$32M Powerball Prize is Claimed
The Oklahoma Lottery announced the $32 million winning Powerball ticket, from Nov. 21, 2009, has been claimed. The End of the Rainbow Trust has come forward as the beneficiary, with Richard Craig, serving as the trustee. Craig is an attorney with the law firm of McAfee & Taft in Oklahoma City.
The End of the Rainbow Trust requested the lump-sum payment option and will receive $11.8M after taxes.
