Oklahoma Lottery Encourages Responsible Play This Holiday Season
Lottery Tickets Are Not For The Underage

Oklahoma City (Dec. 5, 2012) — With the recent record Powerball jackpot and the holiday season approaching, the Oklahoma Lottery is encouraging everyone to play responsibly.

The Oklahoma Lottery is discouraging the use of Lottery products as gifts for underage children. Players must be 18 years of age or older to legally purchase Oklahoma Lottery products.

“Lottery products make great gifts; however, we want to encourage that when giving Lottery tickets as a gift, keep the person’s age in mind,” said Rollo Redburn, executive director of the Oklahoma Lottery.

The Oklahoma Lottery recently joined the annual Holiday Lottery campaign, partnering with several other state Lotteries and the National Council on Problem Gambling to increase public awareness about the impact of giving lottery products as gifts to minors. This campaign encourages parents and loved ones not to give Lottery products as holiday gifts to minors.
